Penelopants - Lauren Cavileer

Penelopants was inspired by my daughter Penelope. I noticed her passion for learning and wanted to create a line of educational tools we would both enjoy. We create posters, prints and flashcards without sacrificing the quality of design you need in your home or office. All items are designed with early childhood learning in mind, and tested by our very own Penelope! She's made in the USA, and so are our designs. Shop with confidence, because if Penelope say's "Quack"… you can bet it's a duck!
We have had so much fun creating these treasures and only hope that they bring as much joy to your family as they have to ours.

Fiona Miller- Artist

My name is Fiona and I am an artist/architectural illustrator.
I have spent several years training and working in the field of architecture, all the while adding to my love of historic and contemporary buildings around the world. My travels have taken me from England (my homeland) to Italy, France, Austria, Israel, Russia and the USA.
While living in Ohio I am trying to paint buildings and spaces in a way that captures the life that has been present in them. I love bold, bright colors, ink pen drawings and take a lively approach to all my work.
At NYMCM I will be showing some of my Ohio-based paintings and prints, but please do ask me about other locations - and also about custom house paintings!

Caitie and Emily -Nugs to the Dust

Hello everybody! Our names are Caitie and Emily. We have been best friends for forever and both love to make crafts. Caitie is a critical care nurse who has a passion for J. Crew and cats. Emily is graduating from OSU and is fueled by candy and coffee.
Over the last few years, we were making handmade creations for our friends. We loved to design custom embroidery hoops for weddings, baby rooms, and just about any significant life event. When people started putting in requests and passing our names along to friends, we realized our fun hobby could be a business. Last summer we started our Etsy store Nugs to the Dust. It has been so fun! However, we really enjoy craft shows. This is our first time working with NYMCM and we are super excited.
At this craft market we will be selling a few of our favorite designs. We will have embroidery hoops, hand-stitched cards, ornaments, jewelry, and a bunch of other fun stuff. We can’t to meet you all soon!

Diane Ackers - Artist

Hello! I am Diane Ackers. I’m a mixed media artist, living the life I’ve always dreamed of. My primary medium is acrylic paintings, although I often incorporate a wider variety of mediums and techniques: including but not limited to collage, ink, gold and silver metal leaf.
Born and raised in Lancaster, Ohio, Where I live with my husband, six children ( three children still at home) and one grandchild.
This is my first year to be part of the It’s Not Your Mama’s Craft Market. I look forward to connecting with fellow craftspeople and artisans. And of course the shoppers.
I will have art prints, mounted prints, magnets, and jewelry all made with my artwork.
I look forward to seeing you at It’s Not Your Mama’s Craft Market

Dee of DeeFuzion Limited

Hi! I’m the ‘dee’ of deeFuzion limited, and I am pleased to be a first-timer to this year’s Not Your Mama’s Craft Market. I am a fused glass artist and I work with both recycled and art glass, and I even occasionally work with other mediums. A real ‘fuzion’, I am!
I got started with fused glass when a friend asked me to take a class with her. We discovered a shared love and talent for it, so we started a little business together, with our business model including philanthrophy; a portion of each sale is donated to good causes. After a couple years, she decided to focus on her other career – being a doctor (go figure!) – and I inherited the biz. I changed the name, took lots more classes, got a bigger kiln, and here I am today!
My academic background is in international education, so I often use other cultures as inspiration. I’m also an old dance teacher, and I try to infuse my pieces with lyricism and rhythm. My sense of humor is alternatively very dry or very goofy, so you might see a touch of whimsy or a glint of sarcasm in them as well.
I take pride in holding my pieces to high standards, and I am very pleased when others find pleasure in what I’ve made. I look forward to being with other like-minded artists at this venue, and to bringing you one-of-a-kind and well-made pieces of glass art. See you soon!
